How Urban Genome handles your data.

Last updated: 6 July 2026

Who we are

Urban Genome is a research project studying the invisible patterns that determine urban innovation outcomes. This policy describes how we handle the personal data you submit through our website.

What data we collect

We only collect data you voluntarily submit through our contact form:

  • Name — to address you personally.
  • Email address — to send you relevant research updates and opportunities.
  • Profile segment — researcher, policy maker, investor, or entrepreneur — to personalise what we share with you.
  • Organization and interest reason — optional fields you may choose to fill in.

We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts. We do not collect browsing data, IP addresses, or device fingerprints for marketing purposes.

Cookies

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The server may set technically necessary session cookies (for example, to manage routing in the Nuxt framework). These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function and do not require your consent under EU law.

No cookie consent banner is shown because we do not set non-essential cookies.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to:

  • Contact you with research findings, collaboration opportunities, and project updates relevant to your profile.
  • Understand who is interested in Urban Genome and shape the direction of the research.

We will never sell, share, or rent your data to third parties. We will not use your data for advertising.

Legal basis (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, given when you check the consent box in our form. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (see below).

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights

Under GDPR and equivalent laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Object to processing.

To exercise any of these rights, reply to any email we have sent you, or reach out through the contact form on our website. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the project evolves. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
